As a Software Development Manager or Lead/Architct, you will hire, grow, mentor and lead a team of software developers and architects that will create a cloud platform for our client’s new generation of applications, migrate the current desktop applications to the cloud platform over time, and create new services on that platform.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and growing a software engineering team of up to 20 developers that will design and implement the front end and back end for our future hybrid cloud platform
  • Providing strong technical leadership and direction to the team
  • Supervising architectures and lead efforts to develop the technical roadmap of projects
  • Leading the team by example, and hands-on at Gemba at least 30% of the time or as practical
  • Setting up performance goals for team members, evaluate performance, provide coaching and facilitate professional development
  • Hiring appropriate staff and consultants
  • Ensuring all departmental procedures, processes, and best practices are being followed
  • Recommending improvements to help enhance effectiveness and efficiency of the department and taking ownership of some departmental initiatives
  • Collaborating and negotiating with personnel inside and outside the departments to ensure effective planning and successful development of software products

Qualifications

Must have Qualifications:

  • Possesses outstanding communication, leadership/people management skills. Ability to lead and inspire teams to success
  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud solutions (PaaS/SaaS) Strategy and Implementation for mid or large size organizations (this includes hybrid/private/public Clouds). Must have good knowledge of creating hybrid cloud software solutions
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud relevant application architectures such as microservices or building cloud-native applications
  • Excellent logical and analytical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to deal well with ambiguous or insufficiently defined problems, and make quick yet well-informed decisions
  • Solid understanding of the software fundamentals, regardless of the particular languages, frameworks, platforms, or technology
  • Excellent communication and listening skills

Good to have Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with C#/.NET technologies. (Their existing applications are mostly written in C#/.NET)
  • Extensive experience with creating hybrid cloud solutions is preferred
  • Professional Certifications – AWS/Microsoft Cloud Certifications, TOGAF, PMP
  • Advanced Computer Science degree preferred
  • Experience with designing, migrating/implementing systems on leading commercial Cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Google
  • Experience with containerization and container orchestration platforms
  • Experience with modern development and testing techniques such as continuous delivery and continuous integration
  • Technology understanding of API management solutions and their role in enabling an enterprise cloud
